Studentship Networks

Adapting Transport Systems: Towards a Low Carbon Future

The network will provide a coherent framework for highly innovative research into mechanisms to de-couple economic development from environmental deterioration and operate within ecosystem limits.  Tackling the challenge will require adaptation of transport systems towards a low carbon future.  This network was supported with the aspiration that it underpins and adds value to the Centre for Low Carbon Futures (CLCF).  Due to the University of Hull’s significant involvement with the CLCF, this network also includes Hull as a partner.  This Studentship Network therefore consists of four individual studentships and eight academics.  The network includes the following projects:

·         Sustainable cities: land use, transport and environmental governance

·         Effective supply chains to support low carbon transport

·         Industrial bio-transformation: Exploring the Potential and Institutional limits

·         Use of digital data and ICT systems to improve resilience of the transport system to future climate extremes
