White Rose IPBio Project
AIMS
(1) To provide collaborative opportunities for White Rose staff and postgraduate students from different disciplines with shared interests in intellectual property (IP) and the biosciences.
(2) To raise the international standing of the three Universities in this area, in the first instance via linkage with the IPBio Network (including Harvard, Yale, MPI, CERMES (Paris) & the European Patent Office) recently established by Dr Radick.
(3) To use these collaborative opportunities as a springboard for developing applications to external funding bodies.
OBJECTIVES
(1) To hold one international workshop in autumn 2009, on “patent boundaries” in the biosciences.
(2) To advertise this workshop on the IPBio Network site (www.ipbio.org), solicit participation of network partners from abroad, and post reports of the workshop, including webcasts of selected presentations.
(3) To submit a network funding application to the AHRC in spring 2010, under the auspices of the wider IPBio Network.
