The White Rose Research Training Programme commenced in September 2007 to assess the strengths, weaknesses and gaps in provision across the WR universities in terms of transferable skills training and career management support for research staff.

The aim of the programme was to add value through working collaboratively, increase capacity, enable collaborations and bring together employers across the region to help support career development for this group.

The programme was funded through contributions from Leeds, Sheffield and York and has now been incorporated into the indivudual Universities training departments
